Goods For Good appoints Jennifer Minard as Interim Chair

Goods For Good has appointed Jennifer Minard, as its Interim Chair. Jennifer takes over the role from Noah Bernstein who is leaving the role after almost nine years.

Jennifer has been a Trustee of Goods For Good since 2022 and currently holds several appointments including a trusteeship with charity Diversity in Development. Previous roles include Director of Digital Engagement at The ONE campaign; a global organisation campaigning to end extreme poverty and preventable disease by 2030 and Communications Director at Verified, where she worked on a United Nations initiative, in response to the COVID-19 crisis providing campaigns that delivered life-saving public health information.

Jennifer is passionate about sustainability and helping to build grassroots movements and campaigns for local and global issues, including social mobility, education, digital and reading literacy, women’s issues and poverty. Commenting on her appointment, Jennifer said, "I'm delighted to be stepping up as Interim Chair at Goods For Good. It's been an honour to learn from Noah, Roz and the rest of the Board as Trustee and I'm excited to be taking a more active role in supporting the team.

"Goods for Good does extremely important work, bringing together two areas I'm most passionate about - helping people in crisis and creating a more sustainable world. I've worked in the NGO sector for many years. As Interim Chair, I'm looking forward to working more closely with the team and helping them to scale-up in what is a crucial moment in the charity's journey."

Jennifer is stepping in as Interim Chair as Noah Bernstein steps down from the role. Noah has been Chair of Goods For Good since it started in 2014.

The charity owes a debt of gratitude to Noah who has put his heart into supporting the charity and has made a significant contribution to us achieving what we have over the years.

Noah Bernstein, departing Chair said;

"I am really proud to be associated with Goods For Good. It's remarkable what has been achieved over the last nine years with such a lean team. Whilst it was serendipity that initially brought Roz and I together, it is through sheer determination of Roz and her team that Goods For Good has delivered almost 50million worth of goods from industry that would've otherwise been sent to landfill or been incinerated, to people in need.

"There is so much to be proud of, but what will stay with me is the response we had to the events in Ukraine. The community response was so strong and our response so precise. The goodwill we have experienced over the years was overwhelmingly reaffirmed; I was truly touched."

"Goods For Good has faced challenges over the years but I have always been impressed with how Roz and the team respond. Whether that's pivoting our efforts from international response to local support during Covid or how we recently responded to the Türkiye-Syria earthquake; teaming up with major corporate and charity partners to send an emergency aircraft filled with essentials to people affected, the team always rise to the challenge. My advice for the next Chair is simple; keep building, be consistent and we will continue the journey reducing waste and impacting lives."

Speaking about Noah's time as Chair, Rosalind said, "The charity owes a debt of gratitude to Noah who has put his heart into supporting the charity and has made a significant contribution to us achieving what we have over the years."
