Having a Baby and Homeless: Chioma's Story

Our Prams for Good initiative was set up in 2021 to support women in need like Chioma. When we met Chioma, through our charity partner Brick by Brick Communities, she was expecting her fourth child. Her partner had recently left her and she was left with no financial support. Struggling to make ends meet she had her home taken from her and was forced to move into sheltered accommodation.

Chioma was re-housed in Borehamwood, but this was far away from her friends, family and support network. Thanks to a wonderful donation of J Cub strollers from Junior Jones we were able to provide Chioma with a pushchair for her new-born baby, helping make those first few months a little easier to bear.

Support beyond the practical

At Goods For Good, we recognise that support goes beyond material assistance. The collaboration with Junior Jones meant we were able to make a meaningful impact on Chioma's life. The pushchair not only addressed Chioma's practical needs but also contributed to her emotional well-being. It offered her the ability to explore her new community, connect with other mothers, and build a support network of her own. This act of kindness and generosity helped Chioma regain her confidence, as well as a sense of independence and normalcy.

Every donation matters; whether you decide to make a one-off donation or pledge a monthly gift, we promise that the donation you make to Goods For Good will be used to send life-changing essentials to vulnerable people in need. When you set up a regular donation to Goods For Good, you become part of the long-term work that supports society's most vulnerable.
