Evylena's Story

Evelyna lives with her mother, grandmother and sister in a small studio apartment in Chisinau, Moldova. She was born with multiple special needs including a spinal hernia, meaning she couldn’t walk and her overall development was delayed. Due to the unusual nature of her condition she underwent surgery in 2004 sponsored by Israel and performed in the United States. This life-changing surgery meant that despite still having problems with the mobility in her hands, Evelyna was able to stand, move and grow.

Her mother and grandmother do what they can to support the family but neither of them have stable, permanent employment. This means the family income simply isn’t sufficient to ensure the children receive adequate nutrition, clothing, footwear or medicines. It is only with love and support the family have been able to survive. The goods we delivered have meant the money which would have been spent can now put towards buying food and medicines.
