Removing Practical Barriers to Education

Since 2020, Goods For Good has worked with Community Game Changers to help local schools respond quickly when children need practical support, whether that's replacing worn-out school shoes, providing warm clothing and toiletries, or helping families rebuild after losing everything. Over the last 12 months alone, we've redistributed more than 1,700 kilos of practical essentials through the partnership, supporting over 2,600 people.

Through our Schools For Good programme, Goods For Good works with trusted charity partners to ensure surplus school uniforms, clothing, footwear, toiletries and other everyday essentials reach the children and families who need them most. Community Game Changers is one of our UK charity partners. Working closely with pastoral teams in local schools, they identify children and families experiencing financial hardship or unexpected crisis, enabling us to respond quickly with the practical support children need to learn with confidence.

Targeted Support

Every family faces different challenges and schools are often the first to recognise when practical support is needed.

Through our partnership with Community Game Changers, Goods For Good helps ensure practical support is available when it's needed, whether that's replacing essential school clothing, providing toiletries or responding to families facing unexpected crisis.

For one family forced into temporary accommodation, we supplied school clothing for all three children, together with washing powder and fabric conditioner so they could keep their uniforms clean and continue attending school.

Another family had most of their clothing ruined by severe damp and mould. We provided replacement school uniform, thermal clothing and a winter coat, helping ensure their child could continue attending school while allowing the family's limited income to be spent on heating.

Alongside school uniforms and clothing, we've also supplied toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste and period products, helping children access the everyday essentials that support confidence, wellbeing and participation throughout the school year.
