Dementia and Self-Care: Stan's Story

Stan has dementia and was referred to One Housing Group* by social services. Stan lost his civil partner a few years ago and as a result he no longer has a support network around him. He needs considerable support during the day which is provided to him by One Housing Group. But Stan still lacked essentials such as hygiene goods and toiletries. Through our partnership with One Housing Group our volunteers were able to meet Stan and provide him with what he needed, lifting his spirits and providing an opportunity to disrupt his isolation.

Stan has become so engaged with Goods For Good that he recently helped us deliver goods to others in need.

* One Housing Group help older people live as independently as possible, providing support schemes for people with mental health needs and those who are homeless.
