Vodafone Charities Connected Campaign

Vodafone's Everyone Connected is a campaign to bridge the digital divide between those who have access to digital technology, and the 1.7 million households in the UK who do not.  With banking, job applications, benefits and other public services increasingly being moved online, digital skills, equipment and reliable digital connectivity are crucial to enable people to fully participate in society and engage in education and employment. Goods For Good has partnered with Vodafone to help those in need get the access, knowledge and confidence to get online. The SIM cards donated by Vodafone have been distributed via our UK charity partners who support vulnerable individuals including homeless individuals, refugees and Ukrainian evacuees.

The pandemic has already changed the way we interact: it looks set to have a lasting effect on the way we communicate. Unless digital exclusion is taken seriously and addressed, millions of the poorest people in the UK will yet again suffer the consequences.

Supporting Ukrainian Evacuees in the UK

We are deeply committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive community for Ukrainians resettling in the UK. Beyond providing tangible assistance, through initiatives like Vodafone's Charities Connected campaign, we've been able to ensure that individuals arriving in England and Wales can remain connected with loved ones. By facilitating these connections, we aim to provide not only practical but emotional support during this challenging transition period, nurturing this sense of community and belonging.

What is Digital Exclusion?

Digital exclusion is a harsh reality for over 14million people across the UK. Whilst the Covid-19 pandemic has shone a light on the issue it has also further exacerbated the issue, intensifying the UK’s digital divide.

Offcom reported that whilst the Covid-19 pandemic enabled some adults to gain new digital skills and enjoy the benefits of being online, for others the digital divide has become more entrenched as an increasing number of everyday activities and services have moved online.

We are looking to build long-term partnerships so that together we can make a significant impact to the lives of people who need our support. By joining our Humanitarian Partnership and becoming a Goods For Good Aid Partner, you will be helping us source, store and deliver vital goods to those affected by war, conflict, natural disaster or those living in poverty.
