Schools For Good supports children, young people and adults by providing the practical essentials that help them access education, training and employment.

Through partnerships with retailers, manufacturers, brands and businesses, we redistribute surplus school uniforms, clothing, footwear, stationery, toiletries and hygiene products through our network of schools, charities and community organisations across the UK and overseas, helping children, young people and adults access education, training and employment.

Supporting people at every stage of their journey

The practical support people need evolves as they move through education and into employment. Schools For Good supports people at different stages of their education and employment journey. That might mean providing school uniforms and stationery for children starting school, toiletries that help young people attend with confidence, or clothing and other essentials that support someone taking their first steps into work.

Working with schools, charities and community organisations we respond to a wide range of needs. Sometimes that support is planned through community projects and school partnerships. Sometimes it is provided in response to unexpected events, helping families rebuild after a house fire, supporting people arriving in the UK after fleeing conflict, or responding to wider financial hardship. Although every project is different, each one is designed to remove practical barriers and help people access education, participate fully and move forward with confidence.

Why practical support matters

Education and employment are shaped by more than opportunity alone. Having access to the right essentials can influence whether someone feels able to attend school, participate in lessons, continue their education or take the first step into work. By providing practical support, Schools For Good helps to:

Essentials for education and employment

Schools For Good redistributes a wide range of surplus goods that support people throughout their education and employment journey, including:

• School uniforms
• Clothing and footwear
• School bags and rucksacks
• Stationery and learning resources
• Toiletries and hygiene products
• Other practical items that support access to education, training and employment

Every community faces different challenges, so we work closely with our charity partners to understand local needs and provide the goods that will make the greatest difference.

Working across the UK and overseas

Working through our network of trusted charity partners, Schools For Good responds to local needs across the UK while also supporting education projects overseas.

In the UK, we work with schools, family support organisations, youth services, refugee organisations, homelessness charities and community groups to provide practical support that helps children, young people and adults access education, training and employment.

Internationally, we work with partners supporting communities affected by conflict, displacement and poverty, providing school uniforms, clothing, footwear, learning resources and other essential items that help children continue their education in challenging circumstances.

Although every project is different, the focus remains the same: providing practical support that helps people access education, develop confidence and prepare for future opportunities.

Helping a family rebuild after crisis

When Lily's family lost everything, replacing school essentials wasn't simply about buying stationery. Clothing, toiletries, school bags and other everyday items had all been lost, creating additional pressure at an already overwhelming time.

Working with Herts Young Homeless, we provided a package of clothing, toiletries and school essentials that enabled Lily's children to return to school with the practical items they needed, while easing some of the financial pressure on the family.

Supporting Young People into Employment

Starting a first job should be about looking ahead, not worrying about whether you have the right clothes to wear.

Working with the School Uniform Project in Ladywell, Birmingham, Schools For Good provided professional clothing and footwear to help young people prepare for interviews and their first days in work. By removing this practical barrier, we're helping young people approach new opportunities with confidence and take the next step from education into employment.
