Goods For Good has been working in Ukraine since 2014, delivering humanitarian assistance to those in need through our local charity partners. In light of the escalation of internal armed conflict in Ukraine, in 2022 we increased our efforts sending essential goods including bedding, hygiene products, food and warm clothes, to those displaced by the conflict as well as refugees fleeing or hiding from violence in the country. Two years on from the initial invasion, the war still rages on.
The escalation of conflict in Ukraine has caused civilian casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure, forcing people to flee their homes seeking safety, protection and assistance. Millions of refugees from Ukraine have crossed borders into neighbouring countries, and many more have been forced to move inside the country. They are in urgent need of protection and support.
Two years on from the initial invasion, the war still rages on. Their need is greater than our resources; will you support our work so we can continue to support those suffering? While there’s little that we can do to stop the war, we can support those in need. There are a number of ways you can help support our work, from fundraising to organising a collection of items we need.
Our report, Remembering Ukraine reflects on the challenges, achievements, and resilience of those we serve. You can read the full report by downloading the PDF below.
Working closely with our corporate partner My 1st Years in Northampton and our trusted charity partner HRIF in the Netherlands we’ve set up humanitarian aid hubs on the Polish border with Ukraine. The Polish hub supply relief aid to Ukrainian welfare centres. Vital goods are also being sent to Moldova where refugees continue to arrive.
Supporting the Local Feeding Programs involved purchasing food locally in-country in Ukraine and distributing fresh food to people in need via our local charity network on the ground. We also supported local soup kitchens, so they could deliver cooked food to many who have no access to electricity or gas.
There are currently over 225,000 refugees from Ukraine registered in the UK for protection. Ukrainian evacuees entering the UK are arriving with hardly any belongings; they are in need of clothes, toiletries, bedding and other essentials. Working with our corporate partners to source overstock/surplus, brand new goods we are distributing to those most in need, via our charity partners.
Goods For Good is dedicated to providing vital supplies and resources to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Your donation will help provide relief and hope to families and individuals who have been displaced by the conflict including those who have been forced to flee their homes in fear of violence. For every £1 donated we can deliver £50 worth of aid.
