Goods for Good celebrates its 7th birthday

On Tuesday 17th August we were finally able to open our doors and welcome friends, family, supporters, partners, donors and volunteers to help us celebrate our 7th birthday.

It was a wonderful day made even more special by the people that were able to join us. It was a privilege to have Councillors Asif KhanBilqees Mauthoor and Deputy Mayor for Watford Aga Dychton stop by to show their support as well former Watford and England Footballer, and loyal supporter of Goods for Good, Luther Blissett who did us the honour of cutting the magnificent cake (pictured below) that was made by David Bright.

 Due to the Pandemic and BREXIT our 7th year has been our most challenging so far but our small team has gone above and beyond to ensure that despite these challenging times we continue to reach those most in need.

 In the last 12months alone we have supported over 1million vulnerable people both in the UK and internationally, delivering over £6million worth of essentials that would’ve been destined for landfill or incineration. And in 2021, despite undergoing major heart surgery, CEO Rosalind together with her small team also launched our Prams For Good and Sport For Good initiatives. So, it was a pleasure to finally be able to celebrate what we’ve achieved with those that have shared the journey so far with us.

 DID YOU KNOW?

  • Since the charity was set up 7 years ago we've delivered over £26 million worth of humanitarian aid to over 24 countries worldwide;
  • providing over 3 million people with essentials such as clothing, footwear, underwear and bedding, nappies, food, hygiene goods, toiletries and medical equipment.
  • We work with a network of over 160 Corporate Partners and 50 UK charity partners to deliver a lifeline of essentials to those that need it most.
  • On average we support over 5,000 vulnerable people a month.
  • Over the last 12 months we've supported over 1million people by delivering £6million worth of everyday essentials they can neither afford or have access to.
  • By recycling, reusing and redistributing. Overstocked and pre-loved goods we've saved approximately 530 tonnes of essentials from going to landfill or being incinerated, reducing our collective carbon footprint by approximately 657 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
  • Whilst we have achieved a lot, our team is very small. There are only 4 of us and 2 are on part-time contracts funded through a Lottery Grant.
