Goods For Good appoints Jo Godsmark as Chief Executive Officer

The appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer marks an important step for Goods For Good as we build on more than a decade of growth, strengthening how we deliver support to people in need while continuing to work in partnership with businesses and charities across the UK and internationally.

Jo brings more than 25 years’ experience across logistics, supply chain and sustainability, with a strong track record of delivering practical, scalable solutions. Having already been actively involved in the charity during her time as a Trustee, she has a strong understanding of our model, our partnerships and the values that underpin our work. She is exceptionally well placed to lead the organisation into its next phase.

Jo’s appointment represents an important moment for Goods For Good. She brings the experience, leadership and perspective needed to build on what has already been achieved and take the organisation into its next phase. With strong foundations in place, we are well positioned to grow our work and reach more people in need in the years ahead.

Her appointment reflects both continuity and ambition. Over the past decade, Goods For Good has built a model that connects businesses, charities and communities to ensure surplus goods avoid waste and reach people who need them most. Under Jo’s leadership, the focus will remain on delivering that work in a way that is practical, responsive and grounded in real need, while building on what has been achieved to date to scale our work, reach more people in need and respond to growing demand.

“Goods For Good has built something that is both simple and powerful. It responds to real need in a way that is practical, collaborative and human,” said Jo Godsmark. “Having already seen that work up close, I’m looking forward to building on it, working with the team, our partners and our supporters to ensure we continue to deliver where it matters most.”

As part of this transition, Founder Rosalind Bluestone MBE will move into the newly created role of Lifetime President.
Since founding the charity in 2014, Rosalind has built Goods For Good into a trusted and impactful organisation, delivering vital everyday essentials to millions of people in crisis, developing partnerships with hundreds of businesses, and establishing a model that brings together humanitarian aid and environmental responsibility.

In her new role, Rosalind will continue to work closely with Jo and the Board of Trustees, providing ongoing stewardship while focusing on strengthening corporate partnerships, supporting fundraising and acting as an ambassador for the charity, championing our mission and values.
“Goods For Good has always been about people coming together to respond to need in a practical and meaningful way,” said Rosalind Bluestone MBE. “I am incredibly proud of what has been built over the past 11 years. Jo brings the experience, clarity and commitment needed to lead the charity forward, and I am delighted with her appointment.”

This transition reflects the strength and maturity of the organisation today. While leadership is evolving, the purpose remains unchanged. Goods For Good will continue to connect surplus with need, working alongside partners across the UK and internationally to deliver support where it is needed most, while building on this work to reach more people and respond to growing need.
