This year marks a decade of impact, and to kick of our celebrations we are hosting our popular online quiz! For years, the quiz has been a calendar highlight within the Goods For Good community; what started as a simple idea to engage supporters and raise funds has evolved into a cherished tradition that brings people together from all corners of the globe.
The popularity of the quiz speaks volumes about the sense of camaraderie and shared purpose that permeates the Goods For Good community. Year after year, participants eagerly anticipate the chance to test their knowledge, compete with friends and family, and, most importantly, contribute to a worthy cause. Every year we bring together hundreds of people from all over the world to support a common cause. As we celebrate our 10th anniversary celebrations, the event takes on even greater significance.
Why the event is online
In 2020 we took our event online. With Covid-19 restrictions in place it wasn’t possible for us to fundraise in the way we would've previously, so we hosted our first online quiz event in December 2020. Since then we have hosted an online quiz annually. It's a fantastic evening of entertainment, music and quiz trivia and has proved to be a huge success. Taking the event online has allowed us to bring together our community of supporters, including those from as far away as New Zealand and the USA!
Impact of Your Support
Each ticket purchased translates into tangible relief for those facing extraordinarily difficult circumstances. The purchase of one quiz ticket (£25), for example, enables us to provide enough aid for a family of two adults and two children. This is pretty special in itself but this is what it actually means.
Imagine a single parent struggling to make ends meet, working multiple jobs just to put food on the table and keep a roof over their children's heads. Every day is a battle against poverty, with little left over for even the most basic necessities. The children go to school hungry, wearing worn-out clothes and without proper school supplies, feeling the weight of their family's financial struggles. They may be ostracised at school, and even be bullied for their appearance. But then, thanks to the support of compassionate individuals like you, we're able to provide essential items like clothing, school supplies, and toys to this family. Suddenly, the children have new clothes to wear, books and pencils for school, and toys to play with. These simple gifts bring relief, helping to alleviate some of their immediate worries and anxieties and enabling them to redirect their focus toward addressing pressing concerns, such as paying bills.
How it works
Once you've purchased your ticket we'll send you all you need to know to access the event; this information is usually sent a week before the event. All you need for the night is to assemble your team, pick a team name, and make sure you have two devices on the night; one to access the quiz and one to be able to answer the quiz questions. The event is hosted on Zoom, so we advise that you have the latest version installed on one of your devices, so you don't experience any problems or delays accessing the quiz on the night.
