Rapid Aid Delivered as Central European Floods Spread

As devastating floods continue to sweep across Central Europe, Goods For Good has mobilised our resources to provide immediate relief to those affected. Following record heavy rainfall brought on by Storm Boris, the floods have claimed at least 21 lives and displaced countless individuals and families across Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, and Italy. The situation is especially critical as rivers like the Danube, which is expected to peak around or slightly above 8.5 metres on Friday, continue to threaten more lives.

Rapid response is at the heart of what we do at Goods For Good. As soon as the crisis emerged, our team immediately mobilised to ensure vital supplies were on their way to those in need. On Monday, thanks. To the support of our charity partner HRIF, we loaded over 1,000 hygiene buckets at our warehouse in Amsterdam. Each bucket, carefully packed with essential items including towels, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, and water bottles, was destined for Glocholazy in Poland — a region already grappling with the impact of the floods. In under 24 hours, the aid arrived at its destination, bringing immediate relief to families in need. The speed of our response highlights how crucial the support from our donors is - and that it's this support that makes it possible to provide immediate aid when it’s needed most.
