This winter, David Lloyd Clubs have stepped up in a big way to support Goods For Good and the communities we serve. As part of their Keep Warm campaign, 11 of their clubs —Luton, Stevenage, Milton Keynes, Norwich, Ipswich, Cambridge, Leicester, Narborough, Hatfield, Colchester and Peterborough — have collected warm winter clothing and essential toiletries to help people struggling during the colder months.
Thanks to the generosity of David Lloyd’s colleagues and club members, as well as the wider public, over £50,000 worth of essential items have been donated. These goods will directly support more than 600 people facing significant challenges this winter, including elderly individuals affected by the cuts to the Winter Fuel Allowance, families struggling to choose between clearing debts or buying warm clothes for their children and those experiencing homelessness with little protection from the freezing temperatures.
A sorting and packing day saw teams from David Lloyd come together to organise 200 boxes of donations. Their dedication ensured that every item is ready to reach those in need as quickly as possible.
By repurposing these donations, an impressive 40,000kg of CO2 emissions have been saved, proving that kindness can be sustainable. Every coat, scarf, and essential item rescued from waste not only finds a new purpose but also delivers vital support to individuals and families during the harshest months of the year.
The impact of David Lloyd Clubs’ Keep Warm campaign goes beyond numbers. It’s a clear example of what can be achieved when organisations join forces with Goods for Good to make a real difference. These donations will bring relief and comfort to families and individuals who might otherwise face the winter without the basics they need to stay warm and safe. We are incredibly grateful to David Lloyd Clubs for their commitment, generosity, and action.
