Female Led Auction Raises £25,000

In February, we announced our partnership with The Big Heart Edit - a philanthropic organisation whose aim is two-fold;  to raise money for charities that support vulnerable communities in the UK and abroad; and to encourage shopping with purpose. The idea for the project was driven by a desire to help vulnerable communities in the UK and abroad following the protracted and ongoing disruption COVID-19 was having on lives and livelihoods.  “The Big Heart Edit was born out of the context of the Covid 19 crisis which, as we all know, has real social and economic consequences”, said Ariane Vayid, Co Founder of The Big Heart Edit.

Covid had a big impact on the British population. Four million children live below the poverty line, 10 million people have seen their financial situation worsen during this crisis. We therefore had to provide our help by initiating a momentum of solidarity

Inspired by the French initiative We Give Collab, Co-Founder Manuela Moollan, decided to develop something similar in the UK.   Already very involved in the world of philanthropy, Manuela had the knowledge and contacts to set-up the project.

Over the last 6 months the team, which consists of seven passionate and talented women, have curated eight auctions, with 100% of the proceeds from each auction going to Goods For Good.

The eight-part auction series ran on Instagram from February 14th - June 30th and during this time we've worked alongside some incredible curators and over 100 remarkable brands. Each auction has been thoughtfully and lovingly curated and as a result the team have raised a phenomenal £25,000 for Goods for Good.

As the charity celebrates is 7th year this month, we have helped over 3million people across the world receive life-changing essentials. Every month we support thousands of people in need, and our key challenge is raising the desperately needed funds to cover operations and logistics costs, so we're able to deliver essentials to those in need, so the money raised from these auctions is vital in enabling us to continue our work supporting the most vulnerable. We would like to say a huge, heartfelt thank- you to everyone who has contributed to the success of this project. From curators and donors to those who have bid for items, you have all contributed to something very special and your help and support will help impact so many lives.

How it works

  1. Each auction has a curator who brings together a collection of aspirational brands, with each brand committing to donate one item to the auction.
  2. The auction is launched on a Sunday and last for 3 days.
  3. Followers of TBHE channel have the opportunity to bid on the lots in the auction over the course of a week.
  4. Once the auction closes, the winning bidder receives a message from TBHE team to notify them of their win and send them a link to honour their pledge.
  5. Once all the winning bidders have made their donations 100% of the proceeds are donated to us.
