At Goods For Good, we are dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities both in the UK and across the world. Our mission is to provide essentials, hope, and a path to recovery for society's most vulnerable individuals, including those affected by modern slavery and human trafficking. By partnering with a network of charities, we strive to restore dignity and empower individuals to take control of their lives and focus on their futures.
One of the key ways we support survivors of modern slavery is by donating essential items such as toiletries, clothing, and other necessities. These items, which may seem small to some, have a profound impact on the lives of those who receive them. For individuals who have been through traumatic experiences, the simple act of taking a shower or brushing their teeth can be incredibly healing. It represents a return to a routine and the ability to care of themselves - something that has often been stripped away by he trauma of their past experiences.
Our contributions ensure that safe houses and shelters run by our partner organisations are well-equipped to meet the needs of their residents. By alleviating the burden of obtaining basic day-to-day items such as clothing, bedding and toiletries survivors can focus on their recovery and rebuilding their lives.
Modern slavery leaves deep scars, both physical and emotional, and we understand that the journey from victim to survivour is challenging and complex. The essential we provide help make this journey possible. By working closely with organisations that provide specialised support, we provide items that help them run programs that are crucial for recovery.
We collaborate with a network of charity partners who are on the front line, supporting vulnerable people and communities. Through our Kind Network we support charities who work with victims of slavery, exploitation and trafficking. These organisations include the Medailla Trust, Women at the Well and Care4Calais, among others.
This year alone, we have delivered thousands of items to people in shelters and safe houses. These deliveries include toiletry packs and care packages, clothing and bedding as well as footwear, and underwear. These essential items play a crucial role in providing immediate relief and comfort to survivors, helping them regain a sense of normalcy and dignity after experiencing trauma.
Our work with survivors of modern slavery is just one aspect of our broader commitment to vulnerable communities. We collaborate with a network of charity partners to support a wide range of individuals in need, from homeless people to refugees. By providing essentials and supporting recovery programs we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change across different segments of society.
Living in Nigeria Ada* dreamt of a better future for herself and her two daughters. When a family friend offered her the chance of a new start in the UK, she was excited by the promise of stable employment and a safe place to live. When she arrived in the UK, Ada found herself trapped in a nightmare. Her supposed benefactor was a trafficker who forced her into debt and coerced her into sex work. Ada’s story highlights the critical issue of modern slavery and how crucial our role is in supplying toiletries, clothing, and other essentials to help make a difference in the lives of those affected by exploitation.
