The Third Sector Awards, celebrate the outstanding contributions of businesses to UK charities and voluntary organisations. The winners were announced, on Thursday 16th May, at a ceremony held at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London, hosted by renowned comedian Zoe Lyons.

Our emergency response project, initiated in collaboration with My 1st Years, has been instrumental in delivering essential items such as clothing, hygiene products, and other vital supplies to displaced families and individuals in Ukraine, it's borders and to those families fleeing the conflict, and arriving in the UK. The swift and coordinated efforts of our teams ensured that aid reached those in desperate need, providing relief and hope amid the crisis.

"We are incredibly honoured to receive this award," said Rosalind Bluestone, Founder and EO of Goods For Good. "Our partnership with My 1st Years was instrumental in our emergency response efforts in Ukraine, and this recognition underscores the impact of our partnership. We are deeply grateful to Jonny Sitton, Richard Parkes and the team at My 1st Years  for all they do to support our small team, and their commitment to supporting the vulnerable communities we work with during times of crisis."

Jonny added: “Our partnership with Goods For Good aims to create long-term solutions that reduce economic hardship, improve living conditions, promote self-sufficiency, and break the cycle of poverty. Put simply, when hearts unite for a common cause, the possibilities for a better tomorrow are limitless.”

This award recognises the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, partners, and supporters, whose collective efforts have made a significant difference in the lives of many. It also highlights the importance of the strength of partnerships in addressing global challenges and providing timely, effective aid.

Our work in Ukraine

Through strategic partnerships and the faithful support of our community and corporate partners, Goods For Good maximised our efforts to provide crucial aid to those affected by the conflict in Ukraine. Within a week of the initial invasion we had delivered 109 pallets of winter clothing to the Polish border, as well as four trucks loads of aid loaded with wet wipes, PPE and surgical goods, and non-perishable food items. Supporting a network of 83 charity partners, more than 60 trucks of humanitarian aid had successfully reached thousands of individuals and families within months of the crisis unfolding.

Our partnership with My 1st Years was pivotal in enabling this response. In 2022, in response to the war in Ukraine, the team at My 1st Years offered their help.  At the time we were receiving large volumes of goods from community initiatives and donor companies and we didn't have the capacity to manage the response. We urgently needed somewhere to store the donations before we could deliver them to the millions of people fleeing the country. The team at My 1st Years offered us a lifeline and opened up their warehouse in Northampton to act as an Aid Hub.
