Children in hospital are having a really difficult time at the moment. Hospital play rooms are shut or restricted, visitors aren’t allowed in and nurses and play teams have told us they are desperate for toys. That's why we’ve teamed up with Camp Simcha to collect new toys for children in hospital this holiday season.
In the face of adversity and geographical barriers, Goods For Good remains steadfast in our mission to reach those communities most in need, no matter how remote. In a year overshadowed by the pandemic, the importance of education and access to learning resources became even more critical.
Over the last few weeks many of us have been watching the devastating events as they unfold in Afghanistan. It breaks my heart to hear the reports emerging of violent reprisals, a return to the appalling subjugation of women and to witness the distressing images from Kabul, Kandahar, Herat and other provinces of individuals, women and families desperate to escape the rapidly evolving situation.
On the morning of Saturday 14th August an earthquake of 7.2 magnitude struck Haiti. It had a depth of seven miles and was felt as far away as Jamaica, 300 miles away. Several aftershocks have also been felt in the region, including one measuring 5.8 magnitude.
Our story begins in Luton Airport on a Wednesday evening with a flight direct into Lublin, Poland just 80km from the Ukrainian border. Our mission; to participate in a small way in the humanitarian effort of Polish people to support their Ukrainian friends who had fled their homes under the threat of the Russian invasion.
Our Sport For Good initiative, which launched earlier this year, does more than just provide access to sport. It also aims to positively impact the mental, emotional and physical wellbeing of the people who receive the items we deliver. Ramzi is one of the people we've been able to support through this initiative. We came to know of Ramzi through our partners Care4Calais, who shared his story with us.
Can you help us raise £6,000 for our SOS Appeal? That's the cost for us to send essentials to the families affected by Friday's devastating fire in Northern Iraq.

We are delighted to announce our latest initiative - Prams for Good. The initiative, which aligns perfectly with our mission as a charity, aims is to take back pushchairs that are in good condition from families, influencers, brands and celebrities, and re-distribute them via a network of independent retailers, logistics companies and local charities to families in need across the UK and overseas.
In 2020 The Trussell Trust reported that more than 1.2 million emergency food parcels were given to people struggling to afford essentials with 2,600 food parcels being provided every day to children in the first six months of the pandemic. It's natural that the first thing anyone thinks to donate to a food bank is food but toiletries and hygiene products, such as nappies and baby wipes are also extremely important and under increasing demand.
